The Falcons battled their neighbors to the west and came up short in a 4-3 OT loss to the Novi Wildcats.
The 1st period was filled with great scoring opportunities, but both teams went into intermission deadlocked at 0-0.
The Falcons struck first in the 2nd period to take the lead. Nate Arnold put home the rebound from Tanner Neill’s shot off the goalie’s pads at the 1:57 mark. Neill and Joe Carbone picking up the assists.
Novi tied it up at 1-1 at the 5:33 mark of the 2nd. Brandon Kour netting the goal.
In the 3rd period, the Falcons grabbed the 2-1 lead. Joe Carbone put in the power play goal at 8:27. Assists to Neill and Nick Pearen.
The Wildcats would come back to tie it up again at 12:39. Evan Budd getting the goal. Novi would grab the 3-2 lead a minute later. David Denova scoring the goal.
The Falcons would not give up. They pulled their goalie for an extra man with just over 1 minute in the game. Tanner Neill scored the tying goal with just :05 on the clock. Joe Carbone picking up the assist.
In OverTime, the Wildcats would grab the victory on a wrap-around goal by Zach Perpich :43 seconds into the extra time.
Max Watson was in net for the Falcons. Watson faced 47 shots on goal, turning away 43.
Next up for FHS is their rematch with Farmington Hills United on Saturday. The Flyers will host the game at FHIA. Puck drop is at 7:00pm.
