Game Recap

Farmington clinched the OAA Gold Division Championship with tonight’s victory over Royal Oak. Leading the way for Farmington was Jordan Graham with 14 points, Ray Bryant had 13 points and Jay Kirby added 12 points. Tyrell Jackson-Davis added 9 points. Leading Royal Oak was Tyler Dawson with 28 points. Farmington finished the regular season 16-4, 7-1. Royal Oak is 15-5, 6-2. Coach Terrance Porter picked up his 100th career win with the victory. Farmington will host the district and play West Bloomfield on Wednesday March 8th 5pm. Royal oak will play Troy Athens at Troy Athens.

Game Recap

The Falcons season ends in the 2nd round of the MHSAA playoffs. The Yellowjackets of Detroit Country Day defeat the Falcons 4-0 at the FHIA on Thursday night.

The first period was controlled by the Yellowjackets with many scoring chances. Falcons senior goaltender Max Watson turned away all 18 shots on net in the opening period to keep the score at 0-0.

In the 2nd period the Yellowjackets picked up all of their goals to secure the victory. Jackson Berger scored on a rebound in front of the net at the :59 mark to take the 1-0 lead. Patrick Cunnington scored at 5:29 to make it 2-0. The Yellowjackets picked up power play goal by Joshua Rice at 3:45. And Michael Stebbins scored at 15:21 to cap off the scoring for Country Day.

The Falcons had some scoring chances in the 3rd, but couldn’t capitalize on their power play opportunities. The Yellowjackets were 2 men short for approximately 1 minute early in the period. They killed off the Falcons’ power play to keep them off the scoreboard.

The Yellowjackets out-shot the Falcons 43-18.

Falcons’ goalie Max Watson faced 43 shots, making 39 saves.

This concludes the 2016-17 Hockey season for the Farmington Falcons.

Thanks to coaches, Brad Levick, Topher Gendron and Kyle Chambers for working with the young men of Farmington High School. Thank you also goes to Zvi “Doc” Levran for traveling back to Michigan to help the team throughout the season.

To wrap up the season for the players, family and friends will honor them in their annual Falcon Hockey Banquet later this month.

Game Recap

A good start to the 2017 MHSAA playoffs for the Farmington Falcons. The Falcons defeated the Shrine Unified Knights 7-1 at FHIA on Tuesday night.

The Falcons put 3 on the scoreboard in the 1st period and never looked back. Collin Rea had a big night for the Falcons by scoring a hat trick. At 6:29 of the 1st Rea picked up his 1st goal on the power play. Tanner Neill and Nick Pearen assisting.

At the 11:51 mark, Collin Finn scored to make it 2-0. Assists to Dylan Finn and Zach Kniffin.

The Falcons would score at the 16:59:05 mark of the 1st to increase the lead to 3-0. Tanner Neill scored as time was expiring. Assists to Nate Arnold and Joe Carbone.

The Knights would get on the board early in the 2nd period to make it 3-1. Cam Eckert scored at 1:05.

Farmington would get back on the board a few minutes later. Collin Rea scored at 4:17, assists to Tanner Neill and Kody Jackson. Joe Carbone would pick up a goal at 7:16, with assists to Charlie Saranen and Nate Arnold. Falcons increased their lead to 5-1.

The Falcons would add 2 more in the 3rd. Collin Rea scored his 3rd goal of the night at 9:12, assisted by Will McCarthy and Nick Pearen. Zach Kniffin would finish off the scoring at 12:57. Assist to Joe Carbone.

Final score 7-1.  The Falcons out-shot the Knights 50 to 38.

Max Watson was in net for the Falcons, facing 38 shots. 1 GAA for the game.

Falcons will play Detroit Country Day on Thursday, March 2 at 7:00pm. FHIA is the host site for the 2nd round of the MHSAA Pre-Regional tournament.

Game Recap

The Falcons were defeated by Rochester United 3-2 in OAA action on Thursday night.

The first period was controlled mostly by Rochester, but goalie Drew Eaton kept all 15 shots out of the Falcon net.

In the 2nd period, Rochester United got on the scoreboard at the 10:55 mark. Griffin Harper picking up the initial goal.

The Falcons would come back a few minutes later to tie it up at 1-1. Tanner Neill scored at 13:12, assists going to Joe Carbone and Will McCarthy.

In the 3rd period, the Falcons would pick up the lead, 2-1. At 3:04, Cater Wells netted the goal, assist going to Collin Finn.

Rochester would come back to tie it and take the lead with 2 goals late in the period. At 12:14, Al DiMarco tied it up at 2-2. Then, :18 later Drew Dishinger would score to take the 3-2 lead and eventual game winner.

Drew Eaton faced 40 shots in net for the Falcons. 3 GAA for the game.

Next up for the Falcons are the MHSAA Pre-Regional playoffs at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.

On Tuesday, February 28, FHS will face Royal Oak Shrine HS at 7:00pm
The winner of Tuesday’s game will face off against Detroit Country Day HS on Thursday, March 2 at 7:00pm.

Game Recap

Farmington Hills Harrison led at halftime 28-23. Farmington outscored Harrison 45-26 in the 2nd half. Farmington was led by Senior Forward Jordan Graham’s 28 points and 10 rebounds, Ray Bryant chipped in with 16 points and Tyrell Jackson-Davis added 14 points. With tonight’s victory Farmington’s record improved to 15-4, 6-1 OAA Gold. Jeremy Cooper led Harrison with 27 points. Up next with Farmington is a home game against Royal Oak on Thursday March 2nd 7pm to close out the regular season. With a win in Thursdays game will be to either clinch the OAA Gold Division Title or share it with Royal Oak.

Game Recap

Senior Night for the Falcons is just what was needed to get back in the win column. The Falcons defeated the Highlanders of Howell, 5-3 on Wednesday night at FHIA.

The Falcons picked up 2 late goals in the 1st period to take the lead. Joe Carbone scored at the 13:08 mark, assists to Nate Arnold and Kody Jackson. A few minutes later (15:59), Carbone would net another goal on the power play to put the Falcons up 2-0. Nick Pearen getting the assist.

At the 1st intermission, Falcons up 2-0.

After a nice ceremony honoring the Seniors of the 2016-17 season, the Falcons kept on rolling in the 2nd period.

Collin Rea picked up a goal at 6:27, with assists to Mike Molloy and Ben Jugan.

The Falcons would pick up another goal late in the period to increase their lead to 4-0. Tanner Neill scored with :39 remaining, assisted by Joe Carbone and Nate Arnold.

In the 3rd period, the Falcons would get their 5th goal of the night. Eli Arnold scored 2:28 into the period, assists to Collin Finn and Kody Jackson.

The Highlanders made it interesting in the 3rd period. At 3:48, they would get their 1st goal of the night from Josh Seiter.

With a couple minutes remaining, the Highlanders pulled their goalie. Graham Hassan was credited with the deflected goal at 14:25. With :41 remaining, Howell would add another goal by Josh Farr to make it 5-3.

The Falcons were able to relieve the pressure for the rest of the period to secure the 5-3 victory.

The Falcons out-shot the Highlanders, 46-40.

Max Watson was in net for the Falcons, facing 40 shots (3 GAA).

Next up for the Falcons is their final regular season game against Rochester United on Thursday night at 7:00pm at FHIA.

Game Recap

Farmington led 21-2 after the 1st quarter and never looked back. Leading the way for Farmington was Jordan Graham with 24 points and 10 rebounds, Ray Bryant 16 points and 13 rebounds and Jay Kirby had 10 points. With the win Farmington improves to 14-4 overall. Next game is an OAA League contest at cross town rival Farmington Hills Harrison on Friday February 24 and they will finish the season at home against Royal Oak on Thursday March 2nd.
