The Falcons traveled to the ONYX Ice arena Saturday to take on Rochester Stony Creek in a divisional match up with the first place team. The Falcons came out with great intensity and scored the first goal of the game when Joe Carbone tipped a shot from Tyler Baird at 13:14 of the first period. Collin Rea had the other assist. The Falcons retained the lead through the first period.
Stony Creek came out and scored 3 goals in the second to take a 3-1 lead but the Falcons got a power play goal when Joe Carbone got a pass from Nick Pearen and put it in to cut the lead to 3-2 at 2:08 of the second period. The second ended at 3-2 Stony Creek.
The third the Falcons held Stony to 0 goals and tied the game when at 7:32 of the 3rd, Kris Kozoro passed from behind the net to an open Nate Arnold right in front and Nate buried it on a nice bang bang bang play. Tony Eaton got the other assist. The 3rd period ended at 3-3 and overtime started with both teams having great chances to score. Stony Creek ended up with a goal at 3:00 of overtime to win the game. Drew Eaton was in net for the Falcons and made 27 saves on 31 shots.
The Falcons next game is Wednesday Dec. 20th at 7:30 vs Troy United at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.
